The week is half over and I've still got plenty to do. House cleaning, yard work, fun in the sun with the kids, bike rides, baking with zucchini, working on a few projects. It's been a busy week as usual. But I also realized that we are seven weeks away from the start of school. Yikes!! And this year DS, my baby boy, will be starting school. Yes, it's only half-day preschool but still. So much yet to do. We still have a lot of school supplies and clothes to get. I've been picking things up here and there when they have been on sale but I only have about half of the items on the list that got sent from school. I don't remember having to take all of this stuff when I was in school but we won't say how long ago that was.
I also started thinking about some things we would like to do this summer but haven't gotten to yet. Camping being the primary activity. The entire family loves to camp but somehow we have not gotten to it so far. Next weekend is looking pretty good for a trip to the campsite, at least that is what I'm planning. We also haven't made it to the beach yet. If everything goes as planned I think we might make it a day at the beach this Saturday. The water park has reopened and the kids were interested in going to that too. Maybe sometime this week DH and the kids can come into town with me, drop me at work and then head over to the park for some watery fun. So some extra fun stuff is coming up soon.
I came across some ideas that I scribbled down some time ago as I was searching my "inspiration" notebooks for a class I taught yesterday. I really need to pick through these little gems more often. I have a ton of new ideas floating around in my brain that I would like to work on soon. So I need to finish up some of the current projects I've got going so I can delve into these new ones. I really need to get my supplies in order to make creating easier and more fun. Actually I really need a bigger space than the tiny corner of the kitchen that I get to use now.
Which takes me to another major project we are currently working on, still. The upstairs is in the process of being gutted, right down to the studs. I can't believe how much stuff we have stored in there at the moment. Still have boxes we haven't unpacked from when we moved in 13 years ago. So a major yard sale is going to happen soon. I need to get cracking on sorting and pricing. Loads of baby and kids clothing. All kinds of household goods. Books, books and more books. Time to clear out the clutter and finish the supposed-to-be-bedrooms. Well, who needs sleep anyway?
