Busy Week

Spent most of this week at the hospital with my mom.  There from 6am until 2pm then home to take care of the family.  Hoping the doctors will have some good news soon so I can get a bit of sleep.  If there was more room in the hospital room I'd be able to do a little scrapping.  I have made a few cards while there and keep a hefty stack of magazines.  Mom is getting plenty of sleep and lots of fluids.  Hopefully she'll get out of there soon.

I can't believe how cool it is in the evenings and hot during the days.  But that's Michigan.  Wait five minutes and the weather will change.  I'm waiting for the storms and rain that are supposed to pass thru tonight.  I love the smell of rain in the summer, something so elemental and refreshing about it.

We're planning on going to the beach around our anniversary.  We'd like to go up north camping and swimming but with mom in the hospital that isn't possible.  So we'll go to a nice beach that has a great water fountain play scape that the kids love.  We went earlier this summer but I didn't get any photos since my camera's batteries needed to be charged and I didn't realize it.  So maybe I'll get some this time.  Maybe we'll get the chance to go camping again before school starts again.  Can't believe how fast the summer is going.

Birthday Treats

Yep, I'm another year older.  Doesn't feel any different, not ancient like my one friend suggested. :)  I treated myself to some new intimate apparel and some fun scrapping supplies to celebrate.  One of my friends took me out to see the new Harry Potter movie - Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince - and then for margaritas.  It's been such a long time since I've gone to the movies.  The last movie I remember seeing at the theater was the second Harry Potter movie.  Like I said, a long time.  DH got me a sweet card and my favorite type of cake - Velvet Chocolate with Vanilla Fluff Frosting - yum.  A nice day all together.

Struggles

Ever have one of those days where you struggle with everything?  Being a wife, a mom, a daughter, a person???  Yep, I'm there today.  Seems like I am struggling just to get things done today, to get my kids to listen, to get my DH to understand, to help my mom.  The morning went pretty well, then afternoon hit and it all went blah.  I'm hoping that things will go better tomorrow.  Please, please, please.

Working on a few layout ideas that I've had on my mind.  A few cards I need to get done too.  Going to download some photos tonight too so I can upload them to be picked up at the photo store tomorrow.  Here's one from our camping trip.  Love how it turned out and can't wait to get the layout done. 

We love S'mores and making them around the fire pit was a blast for all the kids.  They had more on them than in them, which I didn't get a good picture of but this was a great close-up.  We'll be doing this again next month, at the same camp ground.  Need to get better air mattresses first though.  Getting too old to sleep on the ground.

My birthday is coming up soon and I'm planning a little something for myself.  Going to see the new Harry Potter movie, can't wait.  Hopefully will be making it a girls night out but we'll see how it goes.  I'll be going to the movies by myself if I have to.

Here I Go Again ...

Let me try this again.  I always seem to come back to typepad for my blog.  Not sure why.  Probably because I can customize and all that stuff.  Plus I have stuff here already.

Plenty of things going on since I last check in.  Kids getting bigger, cuter, sassier.   

   Aren't they just too cute? :)  Can't believe DD is 6 and DS is almost 3.  The years are just rolling by way too fast.  I've started getting ready for school already, since the stores are already having sales.  Yikes!  DD will be in 1st grade, wow.  I'm not ready but she certainly is and can't wait to get back to school.

I am working on a few layouts and other projects.  Tons of ideas and loads of photos to work with too.  I really want to get the photos from our camping trip and the zoo.  But I feel guilty because I have so many photos I just had developed that I wanted to work on and now I want to have more.  I'm sure I'm not the only scrapper that goes through this issue.  Maybe I'll get more done now that DH is back to work and the kids are getting to bed a bit earlier.  Hard to keep to a schedule when DH is off work and DD is off school.  But I got both kids in bed early, well before 9pm anyways, and actually have time to play with all my paper stuff.
