It is almost December and my "holiday" spirit is in full swing. DD is so interested in all the activities and such that it just seems better, bigger, brighter to me. It reminds me how much fun all the preparation was, how much I loved advent, how all the wonderful little things really help to make Christmas special. Seeing it all through my DD's eyes has really brought back the joy and thrill of preparing for this holiday and the birth of Christ. I'm so thrilled to be sharing traditions I loved with DD and making new traditions for our family.
Here is my little snow princess after putting ornaments on the tree last night. She definately has a unique fashion style. A fuzzy scarf as a crown, bead garland and ribbons as a dress. She's the only one I know that could pull this look off. :) Thank goodness she put on a fuzzy pink afghan as a dancing gown a little later.
Our Thanksgiving holiday was great. My aunt and uncle came in from Las Vegas so almost all of the family was at Grandma's for dinner. I love our huge get-together's like this, for the most part. There is always a little bit of family politics involved but it wasn't too bad. The food was delicious, as always. How I love my Grandma's stuffing. I made my traditional pumpkin bread, a big favorite every year, and tried a new recipe for Pumpkin Toffee Cheesecake. Oh my! It was awesome, even if I do say so myself. It turned out perfect, looked just like a restraunt dessert, and it tasted sinfully yummy.
I love this photo. I know it isn't perfect but I still love it. I captured this just after DD got all dressed up for Thanksgiving dinner. She is so lovely. I am so amazed that she is mine. I am so thankful for her and that she has made it through such a rough start.
I am still enjoying the Photo A Day challenge at 2Peas Pub. I've gotten tons of great pictures I can't wait to scrap. I just got an order of photos from Snapfish on Saturday, one-hundred-ninty-three photos to be exact. Lots of photos to play with now. Some older photos that I just now had developed and plenty of the latest ones that I just had to get ready to scrap. I started reorganizing my photos over the weekend too. Since my pictures are all burned on CD's in chronological order I've decided to sort the photos into categories to make them easier for me to scrap. The main categories are: People, Relationships, Places we go, Things we do, Our Home, Our Stuff, Photos we love. Then each category is broken down further (ie. people - DD, DH, me, Mom, Dad, Grandma, etc.). I've already noticed how much easier it is to find photos I want to use and it is pumping up my creative juices. Can't wait till Friday, I'm cropping at Memory Lane since I don't have to work that night. Yeah!!
